How to Throw a Pig Birthday Party - Eats

It is unclear whether celebrating National Pig Day should be about appreciating how delicious these animals taste or if the pigs should be given the day off.  So if you feel badly for the little porkers, this is a great party to grant them a pardon. Or in the alternativedig in and savor their bounty.  The choice is up to you!

Food options for this party include the obvious Pigs in a Blanket or Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches cut into cute pig shapes with a pig cookie cutter.  Sur la Table sells an adorable pig cookie cutter for $1.00.  It is available online on the Sur la Table website.

Serve sandwiches with a side of apple slices and wash the whole thing down with Pink Pig Punch.  For each serving of punch combine 1/4 cup lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage and 1 1/2 teaspoon grenadine syrup.  Stir these two together well.  Garnish each cup with maraschino cherries.
