How to Throw a Dr. Seuss Birthday Party - Treats

These Cat in the Hat cupcakes are fairly easy to make.  Ice your favorite cupcake with blue frosting to match your decorating scheme.  The topper replicates the cat's hat.  Make them out of white chocolate covered sandwich cookies and cherry and mint lifesavers stacked together with white frosting.

Don't trust your decorating skills?  Make easy, cheap paper cupcake toppers using images from Dr. Seuss' books.  Copy your favorite images and shrink them to proper cupcake topper size. Then you can either tape the images to toothpicks or cut a piece of coordinating construction paper the same size as the cupcake topper image and glue the two pieces together with a toothpick sandwiched in between.  The final step, of course, is to insert the toothpick into the cupcakes.
