How to Throw a Queen of Hearts Valentine's Day Party - Decorations

For this party think about transforming your party room into a venue fit for a queen.  Don't worry - this can be done without spending a bundle.

First cover your tables with red tablecloths and sprinkle playing cards around on them.  To this add playing card-themed paper plates and napkins.  They are available from party stores and in particular, Oriental Trading Company has a nice collection.  Check out their supplies on their website.

Dim the lights somewhat in the party room and string twinkling lights from the ceiling and hang heart-shaped balloons.

For some added flair craft a playful garland.  All you need is a deck of cards, a hold punch and twine.  Punch two holes at the top of each card, then thread the twine through the holes, alternating the card facing, that it alternates pictures and the back of the card design, as shown in the picture to the left.
