How to Throw a Mardi Gras Party - Activity
Have your guests make their own mini Mardi Gras float. Ask your guests to bring a shoe box from home to decorate. One way to make a float is use the top of the box as a back for the float, the box is then turned upside down and the bottom is decorated. Have plenty of craft supplies on hand, like decorative papers, beads, tiny trinkets, glitter and glue available. Put no rules on the floats, and allow your guests to be as expressive and individualistic as their young minds want to be. Number each float and line them up, just like in a real Mardi Gras parade. Each guest can vote on their favorite floats in categories, and you can hand out prizes for their best ones - Most Creative, Most Colorful, Most Ferocious, etc.
