Sloppy Dogs

Kids will love these tasty sandwiches. Two of their favorites in one, hot dogs coated in an easy, homemade sloppy joe sauce. To save time on party day, make the hot dog mixture a day ahead and reheat just before serving.

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 pound hot dogs, cut into 1/4-inch slices
8 hot dog or hamburger buns, split

Step One: Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Cook bell pepper and onion in oil, stirring occasionally, until onion is tender.

Step Two: Stir in barbecue sauce, tomato sauce and hot dog slices. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Fill buns with hot dog mixture.
