Princess Birthday Tea Decorations

Pink and lavender are popular choices for a Princess Birthday Tea. The table is the main focal point of the party, so go all out with a festive tablecloth and lollipop flower place cards. Accent the tea table with pretty pink, white and lavender flowers, dainty teacups and pretty lacy napkins. Tie a simple pink bow to the back of each chair.
Twist together pink and lavender streamers and drape them from the ceiling. Fill pastel-colored balloons with helium and tie them together in groups of three and set them around the party area. Crown each princess with a tiara and give her a wand upon arrival and let the magic begin.
And don't forget the background music. Selections from your cable company's light classical station would be perfect. If you prefer to play a CD, consider The Only Mozart You Will Ever Need. This is a clever collection of Mozart's works that are featured in movies and commercials. Three other appropriate selections are the sound tracks from the movies Emma (starring Gwyneth Paltrow), Pride and Prejudice (starring Keira Knightley) and Sense and Sensibility (starring Emma Thompson). If you would like to try a new talent, sample the music of John Sciullo on i-Tunes. This weekend he played at our local Barnes and Noble's and his CDs The Morning After or Fantazie seemed perfect for a tea. John's work is also available through Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.
