Princess Birthday Tea Games

If excess energy needs to be exercised at any point in the party, have a jump rope or hopscotch competition. Give each girl a pretty faux jewel to toss in hopscotch. You may want to draw the hopscotch pattern on a driveway or sidewalk before the party.
Your guests may also enjoy the challenge of a tea time taste test. Have your guests sit in one room of your house and call each guest to the "Tasting Room" one by one. (To prepare for this contest, set up several small disposable cups (enough for everyone). Fill these cups with different beverages - apple juice, cola, lemon-lime soda, and cranberry juice.) Blind fold the guest and have her taste several beverages and guess what each one is. Write down each guest's answer. Once everyone has had a chance, let everyone know what was in each cup. The guest with the most correct answers, wins!
Princesses are beautiful inside and out and will enjoy playing beauty relay. Using masking tape, mark a 10 - 15 foot line in the party area. Across the room from the start line, mark a goal line that is the same length as the start line. Divide the guests into two teams. Give each team a pair of slippers, a towel, and a bath robe. Have the teams line up, single file. Ask the players to take off their shoes. When you say "Go", the first player on each team will put on the bath robe and slippers, wrap the towel around her head or shoulders, and run to the goal line. When a player reaches the goal line, she should turn around and run back to her team. She must then take off the robe, towel and slippers. When she has everything off, the next player will put everything on, run to the goal and back and then hand off everything to the next player. Play continues until every member of one team has completed the relay. The first team to get all of its members to the goal line and back is the winning team.
Another good relay for princesses at a tea is a sugar and spoon race. Instead of the traditional egg and spoon race, use a sugar lump and spoon. To add a degree of difficulty, divide the group into two and make the game a team relay. Each person on each team needs to take turns walking across the room, touch goal, and return without spilling the cube. Any spills necessitate that the player return to the start and begin again. First team to complete wins.
Hunt the thimble (or any other small object, if you do not have a thimble) is a traditional parlor game loved by your grandmother and still is fun today. One child leaves the room and the others choose a hiding place for the "thimble". Object should be at least partially in view. The seeker then returns to the room and has to try and find it. To make it more fun, the kids watching can shout out hot, warm(er), cold(er), as the seeker gets closer (hotter) or farther (colder) to the thimble.
Teapot bingo is a good choice for an afternoon tea. Before the party make some bingo playing boards in the shape of a teapot. Randomly write some numbers in a grid on the teapot. Choose numbers appropriate for the age group. Give your princesses some flower stickers to use as markers.
