Polka Dot Cake

This polka dot cake will be a big hit with your guests at your Polka Dot Birthday Party. It is easy to make and decorate. Simply bake your favorite two-layer cake and ice it with a white fluffy frosting. To add an extra helping of polka dots, consider using a funfetti cake mix. Then decorate the sides and top of your cake with 1/2 cup of candy melts. These colorful candies are perfect to extend the polka dot theme of your party. You can buy them from Wilton. They come in 16 different colors, so it should be easy to find some to complement almost any color scheme. Due to the summer temperatures candy melts may melt in transit. It does not impact the taste of the product. But to preserve their polka dot qualities, you may need to purchase them from a brick and mortar business during periods of excessive heat, such as Michaels or Joann's or any other place that sells Wilton candy making products.

Betty Crocker highlights a white polka dot cake on its website. You can see the cake and complete directions here.
